Atractiile turistice
Atractiile turistice din aceasta zona sant:
- Biserica din Ostrov, ctitorita de Neagoe Basarab si construita in anii 1518-1522;
- Sihastria de la Turnu, unde se gaseste o biserica datand din 1676;
- Manastirea Cozia care dateaza din anii 1387 fiind ctitorita de domnitorului Mircea cel Batran, care este ingropat aici. Aici se pot vedea picturi murale datand din 1391. Muzeul Manastirii Cozia adaposteste o valoroasa colectie de icoane.
- Manastirea Stanisoara
- Vestigiile istorice (Castrul Roman de la Arutela)

Factorii de cura naturala sunt reprezentati de clima protectoare si izvoarele  de ape minerale sulfuroase (descoperite in 1827), clorate, bromate, cu sodiu, calciu, magneziu, in principal hipotonice, cu concentratie, compozitie chimica si temperatura variabile (mineralizare intre 0.5 si 11.5 gr/l; atermale, mezotermale 41°C, si hipertermale= 49.5°C).

The tourist attractions in this area are:
- The Church in Ostrov, founded by Neagoe Basarab and built during 1518-1522
- The Hermitage from Turnu where there is a church dating back in 1676
- Cozia Monastery dating back in 1387, founded by the ruler Mircea the Old “Mircea cel Batran”, whose tomb is housed here. You can see here wall paintings dating back in 1391. The museum of Cozia Monastery houses a precious collection of icons.
- Stanisoara Monastery
- Historic artifacts (Roman Fortified Camp from Arutela).
Natural cure factors are represented by the conservative climate and the mineral waters (discovered in 1827) containing sulphur, chlorine, bromine, sodium, calcium, magnesium, mainly hypotonic waters, with variable concentration, chemical composition and temperature (mineralization between 0.5 and 11.5 gr/l; nonthermal, mezzo-thermal to 41°C and hyper-thermal to 49°C).
